Message from Scientific Committee Chairman

Greetings from the Scientific Committee,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the 72^nd State Tamil Nadu Ophthalmology conference, “CHERRYCON 2025”. We are thrilled to host this conference at Puducherry where the academic spirit will meet the Tamil culture in the vicinity of the shore.

 

This year we have received abstracts for around 533 Free papers, 475 posters, 70 Instruction courses, 10 Hands-on instruction courses, 100 videos, 96 Just a minute (JAM), 32 Innovations, 37 PG theses, and 22 PG quiz team submissions. The conference highlights are a Go Green initiative, Silent Halls experience and interesting sessions like the Ophthalmic Premiere league, Court Martial, Breakfast with experts and a Fun quiz with crosswords and connexions.

 

The scientific program is designed to provide ample learning opportunities in all subspecialties through interesting plenary sessions, instruction courses, debates, and skill transfer sessions over 3 days spread across the halls in Suganya convention centre and Sunway Manor.

 

I am thankful to the TNOA executive committee for all their input, especially Dr. Sujatha Mohan, Dr. Sriram Gopal, and Dr Atheek Shaik. I also thank Dr Manoj Vasudevan, Scientific Chairman of last year’s conference, Chen-eyecon 2024 for his guidance. I extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Sai Krishnan, Mrs. Manjula and the entire team at Numero Technologies for their exceptional coordination in managing the abstract submissions, overseeing the evaluation process, and meticulously organising the the sessions in line with the schedule.

 

A special mention about the hard work put up by the scientific committee coordinators in curating an excellent program and the Organising Chairman- Dr Rengaraj Venkatesh, and Organising Secretary- Dr. Vanaja Vaithianathan, for their constant support, enthusiasm and positivity throughout.
